Busy

It seems like there isn't any time anymore. I look forward to winter just to spend time with people without feeling like I should be doing something else. Two trips to the vet last week. One for Nixie to the new vet at OSU and on for Traz to the regular vet because he licked his leg raw. I think Traz was jealous. We are having a hard time with him, the is to smart to just eat the antibiotics like Nixie does and he hates having his leg wrapped. Its the wrap or a lamp shade on his head!

In The Woods

One of the reasons I love living in Oregon is the feeling of solitude you get walking in the woods. The trees covered in heavy green moss and the only sound is that of twigs breaking under the dogs feet. The wonder about what's around the next bend keeps us walking long after we think of turning back. We have walked our Shepherds in the woods nearing 25 years and I never get tired of watching them run, where its safe and open and they can be free to return to what their instincts tell them they once were.

Transition

It seems like the dogs change with the weather. Maybe we people change too. Gsd's shed all year long so the daily brushing is a must. Traz loves it, Nixie is still suspicious. Mostly due to her skin condition I suppose, but partly because that's just the sort of dog she is. She is starting to understand the human language, or so Lance says. There is good and bad in that. Sneaking out of the house without them running for the door becomes impossible or we have to do like people with children do and spell things out, ha ha ha. My dogs are the highlight of my life. They warm my heart and help me forget the cranky customers of this long fall day.

Little Dog...Big Stick
